Mike Franell

Michael & Teri Franell have served the Lord most of their lives.  Michael became a Christian at the age of nine and Teri became a Christian at the age of eleven.  They met while Michael was attending Howard Payne University in Brownwood Texas.  Both Michael and Teri’s fathers are retired southern Baptist pastors.  Michael & Teri Franell have been in the northwest since 1987 when they felt the call of the Lord to move to Portland so that Michael could attend Lewis and Clark Law School.  Michael has had his license to practice law since May 1990.  The Lord placed a call on Michael to begin pastoring in 1995.  Shortly after receiving the Lord’s calling in his life, Michael & Teri were called to pastor First Southern Baptist Church, Fruitland, Idaho where they served for more than eight years.  The Lord called the couple to the Rogue Valley in the fall of 2003 when Michael  accepted a position as the Ashland City Attorney.  They were called to pastor Lozier Lane Baptist church in May 2004 where they have been since.  Besides having his own law practice and pastoring Lozier Lane Baptist Church, the Lord has laid a special ministry on Michael and Teri in that they have adopted eight children through the Oregon foster care system.  When added to the three birth children the Lord has blessed the couple with, they have a house full.

Michael & Teri have a real heart for children and youth.  Much of their ministry has been devoted to developing children and youth to serve the Lord.  They believe that each Christian is called to share their faith with the lost the Lord leads across their paths.
